Note : Answer all the five questions. All questions carry equal marks. Answer to question No. 1 and 2 should not exceed 500 words each.

1. Highlight the situation of HIV/AIDS and the major initiatives taken from different government in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia.

OR

Discuss the myths and misconceptions related to transmission of HIV/AI DS/STDs.

2. Describe various types of testing and strategies involved in HIV testing.

OR

What are the universal precautions to be followed for preventing HIV transmission ? 

3. Answer any two of the following questions in about 250 words each :

(a) Explain the different stages in the development of HIV infection.  

(b) Analyze the relationship between modes of transmission and vulnerable groups of population.

(c) List the strengths, weaknesses; opportunities and threats of a hospice.

(d) Define the HIV law. What do you understand by regulation of blood and blood products and screening ?

4. Answer any four of the following questions in about 150 words each :

(a) What is the basic difference between HIV and AIDS ?

(b) Discuss briefly the situation of homosexuals in India.  

(c) Enlist the three ways of HIV transmission.

(d) Enumerate the risk factors associated with HIV transmission from mother to child.

(e) Suggest four ways of reducing HIV infection.

(f) Discuss the role of the care givers in hospice care.

5. Write short notes on any five of the following in about 100 words each :
